Agreement

By using FairSouk ("the Service"), you agree to these terms. FairSouk is operated by Jakub Stejskal, a self-employed individual (OSVC) registered in the Czech Republic.

If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the Service.

What FairSouk provides

FairSouk is a mobile guide (Progressive Web App) that provides:

• Ethical price ranges for handmade crafts in Moroccan bazaars
• Quality education to help you identify handmade vs. mass-produced goods
• Darija (Moroccan Arabic) phrases relevant to shopping
• General navigation tips for medina environments

Purchases and pricing

What you are buying

When you purchase a city unlock, you receive permanent access to all craft guides, quality checks, price ranges, and Darija phrases for that city. The content is cached on your device for offline use.

Pricing

• €4.99 — standard city unlock
• €3.49 — discounted city unlock when referred by a riad partner

All prices are in EUR and include applicable taxes. Payments are processed by Stripe.

Refund policy

Since FairSouk delivers digital content instantly, purchases are generally non-refundable. However, we are reasonable people. If you experience a technical issue that prevents you from accessing the content you paid for, or if you purchased by mistake, contact us at hello@fairsouk.app and we will find a fair solution.

EU consumers: you acknowledge that by purchasing digital content for immediate delivery, you waive your 14-day right of withdrawal under the Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), as the content is fully accessible immediately after purchase.

Content disclaimer

FairSouk provides educational content to help tourists make informed decisions. Please understand:

• Price ranges are estimates — they are based on research, artisan interviews, and market data. Actual prices vary by quality, season, and negotiation. We show what we believe supports an artisan's fair livelihood, not a guaranteed price.
• Quality checks are guidelines — they help you ask better questions and spot common differences, but they are not professional appraisals. For high-value purchases, consider consulting a specialist.
• We do not recommend specific shops — FairSouk does not endorse or condemn individual sellers. We provide category-level information to help you evaluate on your own.
• Cultural context matters — haggling is a normal and respected part of bazaar culture. Our price ranges are meant to help you engage fairly, not to arm you against sellers.

Riad referral program

Riad partners participate in FairSouk's referral program under the following terms:

• Riads receive a unique QR code to share with their guests
• When a guest scans the code and purchases an unlock, the riad earns a referral credit
• Referral payouts are processed monthly, with a minimum threshold of €10
• FairSouk reserves the right to modify referral rates with 30 days notice
• Fraudulent or artificial referral activity will result in disqualification from the program

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Redistribute, resell, or publicly reproduce FairSouk's paid content
• Use automated tools to scrape or copy content from the Service
• Attempt to circumvent the payment or unlock system
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose

Personal use and sharing individual tips with friends is of course fine. We built this to help people.

Intellectual property

All content on FairSouk — including text, quality checks, price data, illustrations, Berber geometric icons, and software — is owned by FairSouk or used with permission. You may not reproduce it for commercial purposes without written consent.

Availability

FairSouk is designed to work offline after the initial content download. We make reasonable efforts to keep the online service available, but we do not guarantee 100% uptime. The Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance or updates.

Limitation of liability

FairSouk is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service.

Specifically, we are not responsible for any purchasing decisions you make based on our content. FairSouk is an educational guide, not a guarantee of any particular outcome.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of the Czech Republic. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under the laws of your country of residence.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
